NO. Although Minky fabric is luxuriously soft like real fur, Minky is considered vegan as it is made synthetically from 100% polyester.

Minky blankets are made out of 100% polyester. Polyester is used in a variety of household textiles from bedding and clothing. The high quality Luxe Minky is manufactured in South Korea. Our low pile Minky is digitally printed using nontoxic sublimation inks, printed in USA and is CPSIA complaint.

The blankets are very user friendly. Machine wash COLD WATER, use really detergent not pods and NO FABRIC SOFTENER. Minky fibres are very dense so the fabric softener doesn’t get completely rinsed out, which would create a greasy feeling. Eww. Tumble dry on LOW HEAT seatings or Air/Hang to dry. Then Enjoy!

Our blankets range in size from BABY (approx.27"x27" ) to ADULT (approx. 56"x76").

Our blankets follow standard blanket sizes rather then bed sizes. Our blankets won’t cover a bed like a normal comforter, but lots of people use Minky blankets to decorate Their beds in addition to their comforter. Our largest Blanket it’s 56 x 76.

This is a hard question to answer, as it really has to do with personal preference. That is why we offer a variety of styles and thicknesses. Some lightweight and some heavier weight depending on what your needs or comfort level is. Shorter pile gives a silky softness, longer pile offers more plush feel.

Mercy & Me Handmade blankets can vary in thickness. Depending on the style you buy, some blankets are hotter than others. Our thicker styles, D-Luxe or Frost blankets are definitely hotter. Our TWO LAYERED short pile styles are thinner Blankets so they are cooler as well as weight a little less. PLEASE NOTE: YOU SHOW NEVER LEAVE A CHILD UNATTENDED WITH A BLANKET ESPECIALLY BEFORE THEY CAN HOLD THEIR OWN HEAD UP. ALSO IF THEY GET TOO WARM REMOVE BLANKET IMMEDIATELY.

First, the materials we use are high quality. The pile on the blankets are made from polyester giving it that silky smooth yet plush texture. Not all plush fabrics are made equal. Often what is considered “Minky” is not. Actual Minky fabric is expensive in nature, so the blankets are more expensive. We often are supporting another small business that carries high quality Minky paying retail price or have exchange rates/duties. Second, we make our products using “slow movement” manufacturing. Meaning we are individually cutting, pinning and sew each blanket one at time or in small batches. At times we even design the digital print on our products. Our products are ethically made. We try our best to make our blankets affordable as much as possible, which is why we offer sales through out the year.

SURE! On select items* that can be shipped LETTERMAIL you can request that those items be sent using lettermail. HOWEVER, there is no tracking so if it gets lost there will be no refund or shop credit issued because you asked for a different form of shipping, which in turn means you refused the insurance we have with our STANDARD SHIPPING.
